Don't Tread On Gnarhammered

Epic trip just went down! Rhode Island was amazing. Skateboarding, beer, bbqs, street fights, and deffinatly no goddamn treading. to much awesomeness for me to even begin to try and type out... just watch the video and imagine what went down not on film... little to no fucks given!

Also, Metzger made this small montage... if you really wanna call it that from stuff on his phone from the flat gap in front of where we were staying.

Historical

Headed to Washington D.C with Asian Dave, Metzger, and Mike Thomas on sunday. Such a sick trip. Hit some parks and some street stuff, drank quite a few beers, and saw some monuments. The city is pretty rad.

Blowin it pt 3

Fuck this blog! I'll try to post all the stuff I've gotten recently, its just a son of a bitch right now cause my computer is slow as fuck right now... anyway, heres two videos. One you may have seen from our facespace, and the other one is brand new as of ten seconds ago. Yay!

Ok, this montage was fucking rad... then for some reason my computer descided to delete a bunch of the clips, and I couldn't seem to get them to work again... so heres the "fuck it" re-edit, which is just the clips from before and the other ones deleted with me not adjusting the song or anything else. Then heres some footage of what was supposed to be a trip downtown, which ended up us going to New Jersey (not filming) and then going to FDR and then finally actually skating some street, but just intime for there to be no more light left. but whatever, who wants to see us skate street anyway? Its weird and unnatural.

Me and metzger went over to check out the new Black Diamond NJ set up. Its pretty fun. The new vert wall that isn't in this video at all is amazing. Also, the bank to steeper bank that is in this video is super fun too. I'm backing it!

Almost made two posts in a day... well, at least their less then 24 hours apart... and there should be another one tommorow morning... unless I end up going to get stuff for the new camara or skating, or head up to the shop, or... well lets just say updating Gnarhammered is my life. Ok, sorta have the new camara figured out... sorta. As you can see, I've never filmed anything on it at night, so some of this is shot blurry or just terrible. Kev And The Naysayers

Hammer Cam Numero Dos

New Hammer Cam! the old one was... well... you know... a peice of shit? So I found a new HD camara that wasn't too expensive so I figured I'd go with it. Heres the very first Gnarhammered in HD video... its just a test of the camara and download quality, so hope you didn't think we'd start off with something epic...

And Life Goes On

Heres our first montage after the video. A new era dawns. Legit Gnarhammered videos to come? doubt it. The new era will be a whole lot like the last one I guess. Shitty. Anyway, headed up to the Quakertown park last night for a late session with Kev and John (first appearance on Gnarhammered... sorry man!). Such a fun session. Didn't even end up getting home til about 5 am. Anywho, enjoy.

Also, don't forget to go to Jerzees tommorow for a showing of the video. Be there around 8:30 for the first showing... I think its gonna just be on loop til last call.

Oh thank god... its all over. This damn video was like a year and a half in the making. If your going to be around, the video will play on loop from about 8:30 to last call at Jerzee's in Glenside. It should be all ages, but of course 21 and up to drink. So come out and drink and watch the video you just watched with us. Maybe Kev will buy you a beer for forcing you to watch so many no complys. He should atleast...

The Grimey Life- Nick Rosalis and Zack Panebianco

Finally, the last banger... Nick and Zack. Origionally it was going to be two different parts, but when it came down to the end of filming, neither one had enough footage for a full part, but regardless, both of their skating was sick enough to have the ender. To make the banger even more gnarly then it looks, the runway is slanted and he did it on a mini board... I'm not sure if you can tell in that shot, but you can deffinatly see hes riding a mini in the clip where he bs tail slides and then noseblunts the stairs... amazing. Anyway, thats the closing part, tune in tommorow for the closing credits, and then its time to start filming for the next video!

The Grimey Life- Greg Pachell

Heres my part. What a bitch it was to make this... I pretty much was only able to film like 2 clips every 3 weeks or something because throughout the whole time we were filming I just kept getting wrecked. Two horrible rolled ankles and a bone bruise on my elbow... awful. If you've never had a bone bruise, it sorta feels like your arm is broken but it doesn't heal as fast and they can't do anything about it. Even right now my elbow is still completly fucked from it. Anyway, fuck this video because I barely survived it... can't wait for the next one!

The Grimey Life- Kevin Brooks

Heres Kevs part. Basically he was the only one finished by the origional date we were supposed to stop filming, but due to injurys and laziness it didn't come out til like last week. Anywho, this is probably my favorite part. Its all just him having fun and not trying to really make some crazy part, even though it deffinatly has its moments of legit tricks... well we use the term legit loosly around here. But eather way, this part deffinatly makes me wanna go skate. Maybe not makes me want to go huck myself, but thats not fun... no complys are fun!

Daves part in the video is sick. Basically he just started learning to skate tranny when we started filming, and look how it turned out! Crailslide on an oververt? Fast learner I guess. He also had the best intro ever, but didn't end up using it, so he used a slightly less racist one, but I think this one is still pretty good. AZN PRIDE!

I didn't know Shipley was even going to have a part. He just was going to film stuff for the friends section, but he ended up filming so much that we just figured he might as well have a section. Oh, just to clear things up, he is in fact regular footed, so keep that in mind while watching this.

Wow, I honestly didn't think he'd end up with a part, let alone first part. Not because of skating ability, but because maybe two weeks before the premire his hard drive crashed which had about 90% of his footage on it. But lucky for us, Metzger apparently is some sort of computer wizard or something and salvaged his footage and I ended up editing it. I like this part because it seems like no matter what hes skating, hes always flying at it with this crazy sketchy yet controled style that is scary to watch, but then you notice he seems to somehow be in complete control at all times. I love it! Thus, he is honered with the first part of the worst video of 2011.

Heres the intro to the video. Since this isn't a persons part exactly, I guess I'll talk about the day before and the day of the premire.
My computer hadn't been working til the day before the premire, so I got it set up and finished up editing the video. However, my computer wouldn't let me put it on a DVD, so I figured I would put it on a mini DV tape and play in from my camara. After putting the whole video on the tape, I realized I never put Kevs part in, so I tried rewinding the tape, only to realize I hadn't put anything on it. I basically just wasted about an hour of time for nothing. Then I tried calling every single person I know who might have a dvd burner, and after about another hour of that I finally get hold of Metzger who could do it. At this point its about midnight on the day before (or the morning of, however you look at it) the premire. I finally burn it onto a CD and then I can drop it off at his house. Turns out my computer wont also let me burn CDs now. Great. Its about 2 oclock at this point and Dave gives me the idea of putting it on Rapidshare, so I do that and send it to Metzger. He tells me hes gonna do it after work at 6 oclock. The time is set for it to show at 8.
Anyway, the day of the premire comes and I head up to the park to set the dvd player and tv up while Metzger gets the dvd burnt. Turns out if you download a lot of stuff at once, you have a 20 minute waiting period before you can download the next thing off of rapid share. So now the video isnt even going to be able to be burnt til about 8. Finally he gets the video burnt and heads up to the park, which is about an hour away, and we pop it in the dvd player and the intro plays, then stops. For whatever reason we are going to need to hit the next button in order to go from part to part, and I left the remote (the player didn't have a next button on it) at home. So Dan finds a dvd player in the park, but for whatever reason only audio comes out and no video. At this point we just figure we're gonna play it another day. However, turns out theres a Walmart down the street, so after driving the wrong way for a bit, we go in, grab a dvd player and head back. We set everything up and the whole thing played through. Thank god.
Anyway, that was the most stressing premire ever. hopefully the next one wont go the same way. But its Gnarhammered, so you know its going to go wrong...

The Grimey Week

Starting tommorow I'll be posting a part of the video everyday for about 8-9 days... whatever it takes til its all up here. I'll also be adding some (Most likely rambling) commentary under it about that persons part or something else. So check back tommorow for the intro to the video. Its bound to suck.

Practice For The Streets

Me and Metzger headed up to Black Diamond Philly park... or woodward or x park, whatever it is at the moment. Active Mail Order Skatepark? Anyway, it was actually for once a pretty fun session since there was almost nobody there except the kids jumping down the stairs into the stupid pads. Oh kids these days, try not to be so weak, please?

The Great Outdoors

Its been a while since I've skating outside. This is somewhat outside... It has a roof, but no walls, so I guess I'll consider that outside. Anyway, Me and Metzger went to FDR to skate the mini ramp. Awsome session went down and then we headed to 9th and Poplar. That place has gained a ton of new ramps and ledges and stuff. Its really turning out to be a sick little park. We only filmed a few things since my battery died. That thing is pretty much fucked. It only holds a charge for like an hour now. So beat. Anyway, don't enjoy this video. Not one little bit.

When Its Cold Outside

Wow, a montage not at The Facility... wonderful. I hope you love indoor park montages cause until this snow shit is all gone, thats all your gonna get. Anyway, me and Metzger headed up to North Dirty Jerz to skate Garden Sk8 skatepark. The place is is so sick, and they finally brought the spine mini back... thank god, finally got to film the handplant wallride thingy on it. We also both got some photos taken by the guy who owns it, Todd "Bossman" Schwartz, so if you add them on facespace or go to their website, Gardensk8.com you can see them... Late Is Better Then Never
